Lira City Council is pleased to invite all stakeholders, partners, civil society representatives, and the general public to the City Budget Conference for the Financial Year 2026/2027.

The conference serves as a key platform for inclusive participation, transparency, and community-driven decision-making in shaping the City’s annual budget and development agenda. This engagement is part of Lira City’s commitment to ensuring that planning and budgeting processes reflect the real priorities of its residents and partners.

The theme for the FY 2026/27 budget is:

“Full Monetization of Uganda’s Economy through Commercial Agriculture, Industrialization, Expanding and Broadening Services, Digital Transformation and Market Access.”

Conference Objectives

The City Budget Conference will focus on the following objectives:

Review the performance and achievements of the Financial Year 2024/25 and the first quarter of FY 2025/26.
Discuss the challenges faced during budget implementation in the previous and current financial years.
Disseminate the Indicative Planning Figures (IPFs) and Grant Guidelines for FY 2026/2027.
Present and discuss the proposed budget priorities for the Financial Year 2026/2027.
Collect inputs, recommendations, and concerns from stakeholders to inform final budgeting decisions.
